In this 3rd part of the tutorial, we will show you how to install WordPress on InterServer cPanel, easily using Softaculous.
Softaculous is a tool that makes installing WordPress an easy task.
Although we highly recommend InterServer
as a host, you don’t have to choose it to benefit from the power of Softaculous since you can find it in almost every cPanel hosting service.
Just be sure that it is included in the package you are about to buy.
1. Find Softaculous
To find Softaculous, login to your hosting account and click on Login to cPanel. Your cPanel will look like this:
Click on the Search bar and type: Softaculous, as you are writing, it will appear under the software tab, click on it:
2. Install WordPress
After that you have clicked on Softaculous Apps Installer, you will see a list of applications. Choose WordPress:
On the page that will appear, there will be sections to fill.
The first section Software Setup will be used to choose the version of WordPress you would like to install, the URL of your website, and the folder where your installation will be. You can leave them as default.
The second, third, and fourth sections are very important:
– Under Site Settings, you can set your website name and your site’s description.
– Under Admin Account, choose the username and the password you want to use to log into your WordPress Dashboard.
– And be sure, to add your email to receive updates of your WordPress installation.
The next sections are for advanced users, use them only if you know what you are doing, but we recommend that you activate Limit Login Attempts (Loginizer) under Select Plugin(s) and to activate backup (under the advanced options) to backup your site if anything wrong happens.
Click on install and wait for a moment for the installation to complete…
3. Installation Complete: Enjoy!
Once the installation is complete, you can visit your website by clicking on the URL that appears, and you can also start customizing it by following the Administrative URL. It’s where you enter the username and the password you chose during the installation.
